Training
Deswik Logan's Run is not for the faint hearted, this is a solid challenge that requires a good training plan. The average rider will take 5-6 hours to complete the marathon - that's an average speed of 15-18 kph.
The course is made up of three distinct stages of approximately 30km each; stage one is from the start at Lilybrook at the Western Trailhead to stage two, the mountain bike single track and finally stage three, the return to Lilybrook.
The undulating Shoreline Track is deceptive especially for the return journey. You need to have enough fuel in the tank to enjoy the ride and make it back to the finish.
There is only one reason to pull you from the the final stage, safety! either your well being is at risk or it is getting too dark to ride. It is important to undertake some reasonable training and the table below is an good example.
