Maxxis Super Series Points System

Most sports are all or nothing endeavours. If you’ve played sports, you’ve probably heard the expression ‘There’s no points for second place’. That saying doesn't hold true in MTB Enduro Super Series, where every rider or team who starts a race are guaranteed points for finishing. In MTB Enduro Super Series, points are compiled over a three races, beginning in March and ending in May. The rider and teams with the most points at the end of the season are declared the MTB Enduro Super Series champions.
There are two basic ways to score points in a MTB Enduro Super Series race: Finishing position and bonus points.
Under the MTB Enduro Super Series points system, the winner receives 100 points. The runner-up receives 90 points and the next four finishers are separated by five points each. Then, the 7th through 10th place finishers are separated by 4 points, 11th though 15th are separated by 3 points and everyone is awarded 10 points thereafter. The table below shows how many points each finishing position is worth.
Riders and teams also receive 5 bonus points if win the race by one lap in front of the next finisher. Also, the riders and teams that lead the most laps of a race receives another 5 points and the fastest lap earns another 5 points.
At the end of the series, if two riders or teams have the same number of points, the rider or team who has won the most races that season wins the tiebreaker. If the riders and teams are still tied, they are separated by 2nd place, 3rd place, 4th place finishers, etc. until the tie is broken.
